Animals use their instincts intuitively. The speed of a tiger, the responsiveness of a cat, or the strength of a bear are not things that these creatures manipulate or restrain with reason. Man is completely different. For a long time now he has no longer been able to deal with his instincts as a matter of course, but is in a corset of social conventions. He or she questions himself and often compensates for his frustration with substitute actions or consumption. The Gießen artist Vanessa Wagner addresses this contrast between humans and animals in her exhibition »NO iNNOCENCE«. It will open on Friday in the gallery in Unteren Hardthof and can be seen there until May 12th.
